Zverev is ready to take the big spotlight!

Alexander Zverev vs Novak Djokovic (6-4, 6-3)

The future looks bright for Alexander Zverev and the sport of tennis.

And the German youngster showed online gambling aficionados a glimpse of that future with his dominating victory over World No.2 Novak Djokovic – a win that shook betting websites and left sports betting experts with their jaws dropped.

The fearless 20-year-old controlled the match right from the moment he broke Djokovic in the first game, and he never faced a break point as he broke the Serb again twice during the second set.

Many tennis fans thought that Djokovic was close to recapturing his form after easily beating Dominic Thiem in the semifinals; however, they can’t be more wrong as the now 30-year-old struggled from the first set and missed his five first serves to start.

Djokovic was still able to recover and tried to mix his game with drop shots, but he can’t find a way to break the #NextGenATP star who served incredibly well throughout.

The World No.17 stuck to his strategy in the second set, and it was effective yet again with Djokovic forced to commit several errors that eventually gave the young gun the break he needed.

His heavy forehand proved to be a big weapon, though it was his fluid two-handed backhand—which can be described as the best on the tour—that gave him the edge.

Not to mention that he dominated with his serves, winning 75 percent of his first serves and getting 20 points on serve.

Djokovic’s frustration also didn’t help him in the match. He failed to maintain his composure and even got a code violation in the game where he hit 27 unforced errors.

Zverev’s inexperience, meanwhile, didn’t show as he finished with 16 winners and only 14 unforced errors.

“It’s such an honour being on the court against one of the best ever players,” Zverev said following his victory. “If I have half the career Novak has had, I will be just fine.”

Zverev became the youngest Masters 1000 event champion with the victory, following in the footsteps of the Djoker himself who won the Miami Open way back in 2007 when he was 19-years-old.

Djokovic also praised the youngster and insisted that he is “definitely on a great path.”

Next up for these stars is the French Open which is already set to begin this week.
