There’s more amazing tennis to be played in California!

BNP Paribas Open Men’s SF

Now, we’re down to the last four in the Men’s tournament of the Indian Wells Masters.

All remaining contenders played great and mocked betting tips to reach this stage, and betting odds point to a more intense battle when they take on the hard court this Sunday.

Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka remain the online betting favourites to advance, but Jack Sock and Pablo Carreño Busta won’t go down without a fight.

Jack Sock vs Roger Federer

Not even the Indian Wells’ “Group of Death” can kill Roger Federer’s hopes of a second title this season. The Swiss Maestro has been on a fantastic run this year, admitting that it feels like he is “on the comeback” at his current level.

Jack Sock will have some advantage playing in his home soil, and his win over Kei Nishikori will bring some confidence in his quick and crafty tennis. However, the fact that the Fed Express is playing flawlessly with his backhand swing a new weapon will make life harder for the American.

Not to mention that Federer will be more rested following the withdrawal of Nick Kyrgios in their quarter-final match.

Though this one should be close, I think Federer is far too experienced for Sock and can easily beat an Asian Handicap -1.50 that pays at 1.89.

Pablo Carreño Busta vs Stan Wawrinka

Many believe that Stan Wawrinka is the only obstacle remaining for Federer to get another 2017 title, and for a good reason. Besides being the last top-5 player, Wawrinka has also shown his ability to come up big and grind out victories when needed – as proven in his three-set win over Dominic Thiem and Yoshihito Nishioka.

Of course, his latest struggles also displayed that he is not yet in his best form, so Pablo Carreño Busta can take advantage of it to pounce early and control the game.

Wawrinka’s baseline and service games will be powerful weapons, but he will need to be cautious of Carreño Busta’s return game and defence considering that the Spaniard is coming from a game where he saved two match points.

This will be their first meeting on hard court, and Carreño Busta should be brimming with confidence as he won seven of his last nine matches on the said surface. With that said, the 25-year-old should be a solid bet on Asian Handicap +1.50 @ 2.06.
