What a Big Day for Milan and their Chinese Fans!

Bayern Munich 0-4 AC Milan

Indeed, China is Milan’s second home.

Backed by an adoring crowd at Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre – thanks to the club’s new Chinese owners – AC Milan delighted their Chinese football betting fans as they hammered the German Champions in a live betting affair that could be called a massacre rather than a competitive game.

Leading 3-0 at halftime, the Italians certainly didn’t disappoint and instead gave the fans in the packed stadium something to be happy about.

Bayern Munich were the online gambling favourites ahead of the matchup, but they were noticeably not their usual selves, missing the finishing touch that paved their way to 89 Bundesliga goals last season.

Robert Lewandowski’s presence should have given them an advantage; however, the Polish striker lacked his normal sharpness and missed a number of chances early that could have kept the game close for the Bavarians.

Of course, that’s not to say that Milan were just lucky that Bayern were out of shape. In fact, it was the opposite as they worked hard, defended well, continuously pushed forward and deservedly took the lead with brilliant plays and fantastic finishing.

M’Baye Niang and the young Patrick Cutrone had standout performances for the Rossoneri, providing the team with energy that allowed them to take a huge lead heading into halftime.

Niang was particularly bright as he utilised his speed, athleticism and great judgment to spark the Milan offence. He had a hand on all of their goals in the first half, with Milan’s opener a product of a textbook one-two between him and Ricardo Rodriguez – the latter crossing the ball to Franck Kessie for a 14th-minute close-range finish.

Cutrone, meanwhile, made the most of the opportunities his teammates created for him, showing his predatory instincts and nose for the ball. He scored a double before the break, with the first one a beautiful diving header from a Rodriguez free-kick.

Bayern came out more alive in the second as they eye for some consolation. However, Milan—despite replacing all their starters—continued to deny them any clear-cut chance before eventually sealing the deal through Hakan Calhanoglu who fired the ball home from the top of the box.

This match was Milan’s last in the 2017 International Champions Cup (ICC), and it was undoubtedly a great way for them to go out as they needed this boost before the Europa League qualifiers next week.

For Bayern, they still have two ICC games remaining in Singapore where they can bounce back from their abysmal China display.
