Atalanta were on the wrong end of the Serie A 2020 news when team captain Papu Gomez expressed his desire to move to another club ahead of the January transfer window.
The veteran midfielder reportedly had a spat with gaffer Gian Piero Gasperini, and it appears that their working relationship has gone beyond repair.
Gomez has played an integral role to Atalanta’s rise in Europe over the last few seasons. Even when he was sought after in transfers by the other teams, the 32-year-old turned down lucrative offers to stay in Italy.

As soon as they entered the easier part of their schedule, AS Roma gladly took care of business by demolishing their lower-tier counterparts.
They beat Bologna and Torino with an aggregate tally of 8-2, so their confidence is sky high heading into this contest.
