The Premier League turns 25 this August, and my oh my what a brilliant 25 years it has been!
English top flight football games indeed have never failed to awe fans over the years, and as another season unfolds, expectations are no less.
There are certainly lots of things to look forward to on the new campaign, but my betting tips will get you covered on the opening fixtures you just can’t afford to miss.
Chelsea vs Burnley (August 12, 22:00 GMT+8)
The pressure is on Chelsea right now after a difficult summer, and it will be interesting to see how they will fare in the absence of the injured Eden Hazard and the want-away Diego Costa – who remains doubtful about his future at Stamford Bridge.
It will be up to new boy Alvaro Morata to perform and live up to his billing, but Chelsea should still find some challenge from Sean Dyche’s Burnley who added some veteran talent this summer.
I don’t think the Blues will lose, though I anticipate some rustiness on their attack that is yet to return to last year’s level. For my first 🌟🌟 bet, go for Goals Under 2.75 @ 2.03.
Everton vs Stoke City (August 12, 22:00 GMT+8)
There’s renewed optimism at Goodison Park after Ronald Koeman spent big in the offseason. The Toffees might have lost Romelu Lukaku, but the acquisition of Wayne Rooney, Sandro Ramirez and Davy Klaassen certainly raises hopes up.
Stoke, meanwhile, lost too much in the departure of Marko Arnautovic, Glenn Whelan and Jon Walters and the tell-tale signs are there that scoring would become a problem for the Potters.
Everton still need time to adjust and gel together, but the quality is there and I think they’ll show it right from the off. I’ll put my money for a hot Everton start with a 🌟🌟🌟 tip on First Half 1X2 @ 2.30.
Manchester United vs West Ham United (August 13, 23:00 GMT+8)
Despite their UEFA Super Cup loss to Real Madrid, Manchester United have every reason to believe they can compete for the Prem title this campaign.
The Hammers are capable of giving some fight with Javier Hernandez and Joe Hart added to their lines, but Manchester United’s depth and balance—with the signings of Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof—are no joke.
The Red Devils also averaged two goals per game in eight pre-season matches – where they only lost twice – and I expect no less this time as they aim for a positive start. With that said, my 🌟 bet goes to Manchester United Asian Handicap -1.50 @ 1.93.
