Some of These Premier League Players Need a Change of Scenery

The winter transfer window is just around the corner, which means that a certain number of players will get the opportunity to move around, not only in the Premier League but also in the other leagues.

Life is not perfect, and so is club football. And because not everyone is happy with their current situation, this is the right time for these wantaway players to take their talents elsewhere for a fresh start.

Which ones do you think fit this particular criteria in the English top-flight? Without further ado, continue reading below as SBOTOP lists some of the players who are likely to move out of their current clubs in the next few days, at least based on the latest Premier League 2023 updates.

Jadon Sancho, Manchester United

After falling out with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, Jadon Sancho has not played a single match and has been linked with an exit ever since.

The beef started when ten Hag said that Sancho had been left out of the squad in August based on his poor training performances, but Sancho vehemently refuted such a statement on his now-deleted social media posts, and he has yet to show remorse to the manager.

Sancho is still earning £300,000 a week following his £73 million arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, which certainly doesn’t help the club financially, so Manchester United are keen to offload him as part of Erik ten Hag’s planned New Year clearout.

Reports claim that Saudi Pro League teams have expressed interest in Sancho, but nothing’s imminent as of the moment.

This is also the case regarding Borussia Dortmund, as BVB and Manchester United reportedly held talks about a potential swap deal involving Sancho and Donyell Malen, who is also allegedly plotting his exit.

Donny van de Beek, Manchester United

On the other hand, Donny van de Beek has finally found a way out of Manchester United, as he’s set to join Eintracht Frankfurt via loan this upcoming January until the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

Eintracht Frankfurt will shoulder 60-per cent of van de Beek’s €7 million salary, with the remaining 40-per cent paid for by Manchester United. And part of the deal between the two sides will be a €15 million option to make the transfer permanent next summer.

Once touted as the next big thing at Old Trafford, Donny van de Beek didn’t live up to the hype, in large part due to injuries.

In an attempt to revive his career last season, the Dutchman was loaned to Everton, which also ended in disaster, so a restart in another league seemed like a perfect opportunity.

Die Adler need reinforcements in midfield, with Ellyes Skhiri and Fares Chaibi headed to AFCON, so this is a good move for the Bundesliga side.

Kalvin Phillips, Manchester City

Pep Guardiola had gone on record to apologise for not giving enough chances to Kalvin Phillips in his time at Manchester City so far.

The former Leeds United star has yet to start for the treble winners in the Premier League this season, even with Rodri missing, so it feels inevitable that he’ll leave the Etihad soon.

One of the most prominent suitors for Phillips, if reports in Turin are to be believed, is Juventus, as I Bianconeri are keen on acquiring him on an initial loan with an option to buy.

But if Phillips doesn’t want to leave home, then he should consider going to Newcastle United, who are also a frontrunner for his services.

Given their extensive injury list, the Magpies need more warm bodies, so Phillips can fit right in, especially since he already knows what it’s like to play in the Premier League.

Ivan Toney, Brentford

Brentford striker Ivan Toney is currently serving an eight-month ban for breaking betting rules, but he will be available in January, which has rival clubs eyeing him as a result. Teams such as Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham are named as his suitors, which is understandable given his overall quality.

Arsenal are in pole position out of the three to get Toney since they offer the best Premier League 2023 odds of challenging for the title this season, although there are many more considerations before both sides reach an agreement.

Toney’s £100 million valuation by the Bees will certainly make the Gunners think twice. And because he hasn’t played in a while, it might take him a while to get up to speed, and Arsenal can’t afford that luxury with the title race getting tight.
