It’s a Fantastic Night for Los Blancos and the Happy Reds!

Real Madrid and Liverpool had the night of their lives in Europe as they won their Champions League football games in great style.

Betting tips suggested Liverpool should overcome Porto, but Jurgen Klopp’s team put on a spectacular attacking display to hammer their hosts 0-5. And in the tie of the round, two of the favourites put on a classic, with a couple of late goals swinging the betting odds firmly in Real Madrid’s direction.

Real Madrid 3-1 Paris Saint-Germain

This game was in the balance until the final ten minutes when Los Blancos struck a heavy double blow. In a superb first half PSG deservedly went in front when Neymar teed up Adrien Rabiot who finished coolly on 33 minutes. But the half time team-talks were swiftly altered when Real equalised on 45 minutes. Giovani Lo Celso clumsily floored Toni Kroos at a corner, and Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up to plant the penalty home for his 100th Champions League goal.

PSG were on the attack for much of the second half but the game dramatically swung the host’s way when Ronaldo made it two from close range, with his knee, and Marcelo fired home the third.

FC Porto 0-5 Liverpool

Liverpool were widely backed to win this game and were on the front foot throughout. And it was no surprise when they broke through on 25 minutes, thanks to a shocker from Porto keeper Jose Sa, who let a shot from Sadio Mane somehow squeeze under him and into the net. And just four minutes later Mo Salah doubled the lead with his 30th goal of the season, in all competitions, poking in from a rebound after James Milner had struck a post.

The Reds were out of sight on 53 minutes when Mane finished off a lightning break for his second. As Liverpool’s front three terrorised the Porto defence, all that was left was for Roberto Firmino to get in on the act, and on 69 minutes he did just that finishing clinically from a Milner pass to score his seventh of the campaign. Then on 85 minutes Mane scored his hat-trick with an unstoppable drive.

Liverpool are as good as through, and Real Madrid are half way there.
