Surprising results bring thrill to NBA online betting

A four-overtime marathon in Atlanta, an upset of the Raptors, a thrashing of the Rockets and a stunner in San Antonio sent betting odds crashing and betting websites into a frenzy.

Surprises are indeed part of the NBA, and fans were reminded of that once again through Monday’s basketball action.

New York Knicks 139-142 Atlanta Hawks

Carmelo Anthony scored 45 points in this game that went to four OTs. However, with Kristaps Porzingis fouling out in the fourth quarter and Anthony missing the last two extra periods, New York eventually fell to Atlanta.

The Hawks’ starting unit impressed in this marathon match with Paul Millsap and Dwight Howard recording double-double in points and rebounds.

Oklahoma City Thunder 91-107 Cleveland Cavaliers

Another triple-double from Russell Westbrook was not enough to silence the Cavaliers as LeBron James and Kyrie Irving combined for 54 points. It could have been a bigger lead if Kevin Love stayed in the game, especially with Oklahoma having a rough night shooting from the field.

Orlando Magic 114-113 Toronto Raptors

A 9-3 run at the start of the fourth quarter gave Orlando some breathing space, and they held on to edge the slumping Toronto. All-Star Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan scored 33 and 22 points respectively, but the Magic’s balanced offence was too much for them.

Houston Rockets 101-120 Indiana Pacers

The Rockets have now lost three of their last four games as the Pacers handed them a 19-point drubbing at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Paul George came up big for Indiana with 33 points, but his most significant contribution in the game was his defence on James Harden who finished with 15 points (on 17.6 percent shooting), eight assists and eight turnovers.

Washington Wizards 107-94 New Orleans Pelicans

Washington’s rise to contention continues with a convincing victory over the Anthony Davis-led Pelicans. The top-heavy Wizards got a huge boost from their starters who all reached double figures, with Bradley Beal heading the pack with 27 points on 11-for-16 shooting.  John Wall, meanwhile, tied a career-high with 19 assists to spoil Davis’ 36-17 (points-rebounds) display.

Dallas Mavericks 105-101 San Antonio Spurs

Banking on Seth Curry’s much-improved offensive game, the Mavericks put an end to their 12-game losing streak in San Antonio. Seth registered 24 points to go along with ten boards to stun Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs. Dirk Nowitzki also tallied a double-double while Mavs’ new boy Yogi Ferrell impressed with nine points and seven assists.

Philadelphia 76ers 108-121 Chicago Bulls

Amid the off-court issues they are facing, Chicago still managed to pull through and get the win, all thanks to Jimmy Butler (28 points) and Robin Lopez’ (21 points) efficient shooting night. Though, it also helped them that they are up against a Philadelphia squad playing without their best player, Joel Embiid.

Golden State Warriors 113-111 Portland Trail Blazers

Golden State led by as much as 21 points in the game, and they held firm despite a late fourth-quarter rally from Portland that saw their lead cut to just two. Kevin Durant fueled the Warriors with 33 points, while Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala stepped up to give the squad a scoring boost in the absence of Steph Curry who sat out due to illness.

The Blazers, meanwhile, had five players scoring in double digits, with C.J. McCollum leading the charge with 28.
