NBA:Buoyant Knicks Go for Seventh Straight in DC

The Knicks are one of the hottest teams in the NBA today. New York are the third seed in the Eastern Conference since they are on a six-game winning streak, and they’re poised to win their seventh straight game when they visit the lowly Wizards tomorrow at the Capital One Arena.

Meanwhile, the Heat, Thunder, Bucks, Suns, Pistons, Sixers, Mavericks, and Kings will visit the Hawks, Hornets, Bulls, Warriors, Nuggets, Jazz, Blazers, and Lakers, respectively, and the NBA 2024 odds favour mostly the visitors to emerge victorious.

As always, basketball fans will get their dose of NBA 2024 highlights because there are so many games to choose from. Continue reading below, as SBOTOP previews the top three matches for tomorrow.

New York Knicks @ Washington Wizards

The Knicks grabbed their sixth straight win by dominating the Magic 108-85 on Friday night. After a close first half, New York lowered the boom on Orlando by outscoring them 54-31 in the second half.Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 26 points, three rebounds, nine assists, and two steals on 11-of-21 shooting from the field. Josh Hart added 23 points, 13 rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns added 17 and 16 points, respectively.

It’s clear that the Knicks are winning the Towns-Randle trade last offseason, as Karl-Anthony Towns is settling in with his new team well. The four-time NBA All-Star is a nightly double-double threat, and the Wizards are in for a long night trying to contain him like their first meeting in November.

The Wizards have the worst record in the Eastern Conference (5-23), but they’re fresh from a 113-110 win against the Hornets last Thursday. Jordan Poole hit the game-winning three with 8.1 seconds left, and the Knicks will have to monitor him tomorrow as the one-time NBA champion averages 21.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game this year.

Washington will continue to roll without Kyle Kuzma, who has a rib injury. The team is focused on developing youngsters such as Bub Carrington, Alexandre Sarr, Kyshawn George, and Bilal Coulibaly.

Betting tip – Karl-Anthony Towns Over 23.50 @ 1.88

Phoenix Suns @ Golden State Warriors

The Suns are growing desperate to regain their form, losing four of their last five games. They’re coming off a 98-89 defeat against the shorthanded Mavericks on Friday. Kevin Durant was the lone bright spot for Phoenix, as he recorded 35 points and three rebounds on 11-of-19 shooting from the field and 10-of-12 shooting from the free throw line. Royce O’Neale (14 points) and Bradley Beal (11 points) were the other double-digit scorers for the Suns.

Phoenix will likely miss the services of Jusuf Nurkic, as he was ejected for his altercation with Naji Marshall and PJ Washington in the third period. Mason Plumlee will likely take the Bosnian’s spot in the starting lineup. Devin Booker is not expected to play tomorrow due to a strained groin.

The Warriors are coming off a 102-92 defeat against the Clippers for their third straight loss. Golden State were without Stephen Curry due to a minor knee injury. However, the four-time NBA champion is expected to play against Phoenix. Jonathan Kuminga was the bright spot against LA, notching a career-high 34 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and two steals on 11-of-19 shooting from the field and 11-of-14 shooting from the free throw line. Moses Moody and Brandin Podziemski also combined for 21 points in the losing effort.

Betting tip – Golden State Warriors Asian Handicap -5.00 @ 1.88

Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Lakers

The Kings recently fired Mike Brown amid a five-game losing streak, and Doug Christie will be the team’s interim head coach when they visit the Lakers tomorrow. Sacramento have a 13-18 record, good for 12th in the Western Conference table.

In Brown’s final act as head coach, Sacramento lost 114-113 to Detroit on Thursday in heartbreaking fashion. With the team up 113-110, all they needed was one defencive stop, but De’Aaron Fox conceded a four-point play to Jaden Ivey with three seconds left. Domantas Sabonis didn’t play against the Pistons due to an illness, and the Kings hope to have him back against the Lakers.

The Lakers are coming off a 115-113 win over the Warriors on Christmas Day. LeBron James led the way with 31 points, while Austin Reaves had 26 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and the game-winning layup. The Purple and Gold only played Anthony Davis for seven minutes, as he exited the game due to a sprained ankle. AD is listed as questionable against Sacramento.

Betting tip – Los Angeles Lakers Asian Handicap -3.00 @ 1.95
