NBA Recap: Kawhi, Clippers Clobber Spurs, Harden Smokes Suns

Both the Los Angeles Clippers and the Houston Rockets are lagging behind the Lakers atop the NBA‘s Western Conference standings at the moment. But the two contenders closed the gap with dominant road wins.

Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers embarrassed his old team, the San Antonio Spurs, while James Harden had another huge scoring performance against the Phoenix Suns.

For any SBOBET NBA fan who missed out on those games, as well as all the other contests on the schedule, here’s everything that went down in The Association.

Utah Jazz 114-107 Charlotte Hornets

The Jazz kept up their terrific form of late as they went into Charlotte and beat the Hornets, 114-107. Utah have now won five games on the bounce and six of their last seven.

Bojan Bogdanovic, who is having a career season in Utah, had another fine game with 26 points, while Rudy Gobert added 17 points and 19 rebounds.

Terry Rozier was the top scorer for the Hornets with 29 points, while Devonte Graham added 22. Although, Graham struggled from the field, going just 7-of-22. The Hornets have now dropped three of their last four games.

Atlanta Hawks 112-122 Brooklyn Nets

The Hawks’ nosedive continues. Despite 47 points from Trae Young, the Hawks still fell to their seventh loss in a row in Brooklyn against the Nets.

Led by Spencer Dinwiddie, who finished with 39 points, the Nets stormed back from a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Hawks for the second time this month.

Young had 39 points in that first loss to the Nets and has been one of the lone bright spots for the Hawks, who have been embarrassingly blown out by the Bulls and the Knicks during their current losing skid.

Washington Wizards 108-125 Philadelphia 76ers

Joel Embiid has scored 26pts to contribute in the Sixers' victory against the Wizards in the recent NBA clash

Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid called out his team amid their recent three-game losing skid, two of which were at home after winning their first 15 games at Wells Fargo Center.

And the Sixers responded in kind by recording a comfortable home win over the Wizards. Embiid backed up his talk with 21 points and 13 rebounds as he led six Sixers in double figures.

Bradley Beal had 36 points in a losing effort for the Wizards, while Isaiah Thomas added 20. Thomas was ejected late in the fourth quarter after going into the stands to confront a fan.

Chicago Bulls 119-107 Detroit Pistons

The Bulls picked up back-to-back wins for just the second time this season as they took care of the short-handed Pistons.

Zach LaVine continued his strong play with 33 points, his fourth game of 30 or more points in the last six contests. Rookie Cody White added 19 points off the Bulls bench.

The NBA 2019 odds were always going to be against the Pistons, who were missing All-Star big man Blake Griffin and sixth man Derrick Rose. Markieff Morris had a team-high 23 points in their absence and Andre Drummond added 19 points and 14 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough.

Milwaukee Bucks 123-102 New York Knicks

After seeing their 18-game winning run come to an end a few days ago, the Bucks have begun a new win streak as they crushed the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Giannis Antetokounmpo followed up his outstanding performance in the win against the Lakers with a triple-double of 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in just 26 minutes of action. Khris Middleton also contributed 23 points in 24 minutes.

Meanwhile, Julius Randle led the way with 20 points for the Knicks, who have now lost back-to-back games after winning three of their last five.

Sacramento Kings 115-119 Memphis Grizzlies

Three games into his return and De’Aaron Fox still has yet to pick up a win. Fox’s Kings fell to the Grizzlies as they capped off their four-game road trip.

Fox had 22 points while Harrison Barnes added 25 for the Kings, who’ve dropped to just 6-12 on the road this season.

As for the Grizzlies, Jaren Jackson Jr. led the way with 18 points as seven Memphis players in total finished in double digits.

Los Angeles Clippers 134-109 San Antonio Spurs

Kawhi Leonard has come back to haunt his old team. Leonard led the way with 26 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists for the Clippers as he picked up his first win over the Spurs in San Antonio.

Leonard scored 38 points in the first meeting against the Spurs, who have alternated wins and losses in their last six games. The dynamic bench duo of Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams also had 20 points for the Clips.

Meanwhile, DeMar DeRozan snapped out of his recent slump to lead the Spurs with 24 points in 25 minutes. But they were just no match for LA, who scored almost at will against the Spurs defence.

Houston Rockets 139-125 Phoenix Suns

Another game, another James Harden scoring explosion. The Rockets star burned the Suns for 47 points to lead the Rockets to their fifth win in their last six games.

And perhaps more promisingly for Houston, Russel Westbrook also kept up his fine play of late. Westbrook, who finished with 30 points and 10 assists, has topped the 30-point mark in each of his last three games.

Kelly Oubre Jr. led the way for the Suns with 26 points, but it wasn’t nearly enough as the slumping Suns lost their sixth game in a row.

Minnesota Timberwolves 106-113 Portland Trail Blazers

With star big man Karl-Anthony Towns missing once again, the Timberwolves continued their horrendous run of NBA 2019 results against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Andrew Wiggins did all he could with 33 points to lead the Wolves, but he was unable to prevent Minnesota from losing their 10th game in a row.

The Blazers’ star backcourt of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum combined for 55 points despite some rough shooting (18-48 FG) while Hassan Whiteside had a huge game with 16 points, 22 rebounds, and seven blocks.
