NBA Preview: Doncic out to Derail Dominant Lakers’ Win Streak

The first day of December in the NBA is jam-packed with nine games on the slate. The marquee matchup of the day will see the red-hot Luka Doncic and his Dallas Mavericks try to slow down the streaking Los Angeles Lakers, winners of 10 straight games.

Elsewhere, the Knicks and Celtics collide for the third time already this season, with the C’s looking to clinch the season series. And the Raptors will be gunning for their seventh win in a row when they host the dangerous Jazz.

Allow SBOBET to provide a quick preview on all nine of these games and how they might play out from a betting perspective.

Miami Heat @ Brooklyn Nets

The Heat have been perfect at home this season (8-0), but they’ve had some struggles on the road. They’ve lost back-to-back games on their travels, albeit against very good teams in the 76ers and Rockets.

Miami will look to snap that skid against the Nets, who have won five of their last six games. They’ve done so without star point guard Kyrie Irving, who will miss his ninth straight game due to a shoulder injury. After beating up on some lesser squads, they beat the Boston Celtics in the second time of asking at home.

Betting Tip: Nets + 3.50 Asian Handicap @ 1.90

Memphis Grizzlies @ Minnesota Timberwolves

The Grizzlies are going through a very rough patch. They’ve lost six games in a row, with five of those defeats coming at home. That skid could get even worse with the NBA 2019 news that star rookie Ja Morant is suffering from back spasms.

Memphis will now go on the road to face the Timberwolves, who are riding a two-game win streak thanks to the efforts of young stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. The two combined for 55 points in their first meeting against the Grizzlies, which the Wolves lost, 137-121. However, it’s bound to be a much different game with Morant missing for the struggling Grizzlies.

Boston Celtics @ New York Knicks

Since getting off to a red-hot 10-1 start, the Celtics have gone just 3-4 in their last seven games, with all four losses coming on the road. But Boston’s next road assignment should be much easier as they face the struggling Knicks, who’ve lost five games in a row.

The Celtics have already face the Knicks twice this season and have won both matchups. Kemba Walker has particularly enjoyed facing his hometown team as he’s scored 30-plus points in both games against the Knicks.

Betting Tip: Celtics -7.50 Asian Handicap @ 1.88

Dallas Mavericks @ Los Angeles Lakers

Just when you thought Luka Doncic couldn’t get any better, he goes and drops another 42 points against the Suns, the third time he’s topped 40 in his last six games. With the young Slovenian superstar leading the way, the Mavs have gone 6-1 in their last seven games.

The Mavs’ lone loss came against the Clippers, and now, they will go on the road to face the hottest team in the league in the Lakers, who’ve won 10 straight games.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis have simply been unstoppable of late. After the Brow got revenge over the Pelicans on Thanksgiving, they blew out the Wizards by 22 at home. They have a league-best 17-2 record, tied for the best mark in franchise history through 19 games.

Without a doubt, it will take another monumental effort for Doncic to stop the Lakers juggernaut from rolling along at Staples Center.

Betting Tip: Lakers -6.50 Asian Handicap @ 2.00

Oklahoma City Thunder @ New Orleans Pelicans

The struggling Pelicans have now lost four games in a row after a 109-104 defeat on the road to the Thunder. Brandon Ingram had another fine game with a team-high 26 points, but the Thunder got 44 huge bench points from Dennis Schroder and Abdel Nader, which proved too much.

It’s highly unlikely that those two–Nader especially–will come up with another performance quite that spectacular. That, coupled with the boost of the home crowd, should see the Pelicans finally snap their losing skid.

Betting Tip: Pelicans -2.50 Asian Handicap @ 1.98

San Antonio Spurs @ Detroit Pistons

The struggling Spurs picked up a much-needed win as they beat the Clippers at home. Prior to that win, they had lost 10 of their last 11 games. The Pistons have been just as bad, with just two wins in their last 10.

But after Blake Griffin publicly called out his team-mates’ “fight,” expect a positive reaction from the Pistons against the Spurs, who are just 2-7 on the road this season.

Betting Tip: Pistons -3.50 Asian Handicap @ 1.92

Utah Jazz @ Toronto Raptors

The Jazz finally snapped their two-game losing skid as they beat the struggling Grizzlies on the road. However, it’s looking unlikely that they will get to start a road winning streak.

That’s because they will be paying the impressive Raptors a visit in Toronto. The defending champions, who’ve won their last six games, done a marvellous job protecting home court. They’ve gone a perfect 8-0 thus far in front of their own fans. Meanwhile, the Jazz have struggled away from theirs as their mediocre 4-6 road record can attest.

Betting Tip: Raptors -3.00 Asian Handicap @ 1.99

Golden State Warriors @ Orlando Magic

After picking up a rare win against the Bulls, the Warriors got back to losing ways with a 122-105 beatdown at the hands of the Heat. It was the Dubs’ fourth defeat in their last five games. The Magic are in a similar 1-4 slump over their last five, which includes two losses to the Raptors.

Neither team is particularly impressive, but the Magic are significantly better at home (6-4 as opposed to 1-7 on the road), so they should be able to pick up another W against the Warriors. However, the NBA 2019 betting odds are favourable for the Dubs, who still have enough offence to stay competitive.

Betting Tip: Warriors +9.00 Asian Handicap @ 1.88

Washington Wizards @ LA Clippers

The Clippers surprisingly had their seven-game winning streak snapped by the struggling Spurs. The star trio of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Lou Williams all struggled shooting the ball as they combined to go just 12-of-44 from the field.

But they will have a perfect opportunity to capitalise as they face the Wizards, who have lost three of their last four games and have had their problems away from home (3-7).

Betting Tip: Clippers -12.50 Asian Handicap @ 1.93
