Tomorrow’s set of NBA games might not seem as exciting to the neutral basketball fan. Not all of the big teams will be playing tomorrow, and the four games on offer aren’t as eye-catching as the ones that were played earlier today.
However, there are still interesting storylines that can be procured from tomorrow’s set of games. Almost all of the games feature a heavy favourite and a small underdog. Under these situations, the minnows would always struggle and find themselves in the back foot as they try to pull off an upset against the favourites.
However, this season has been quite interesting for basketball. A good number of teams have played out of their skins by just playing good team basketball. Moreover, the NBA stars the best basketball players in the world. If there’s anyone who can pull a fast one on the big favourites, it would be the league’s underdogs.
Golden State Warriors @ Washington Wizards (January 25, 08:00 GMT+8)
It’s the same old story for the Golden State Warriors at this point of the season: they are starting to click again after the planet got older, and there’s little to no doubt that they are the overwhelming favourites to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy.
Even head coach Steve Kerr is in awe of the monster he created ever since stepping in as the team’s top strategist in 2014. “I’ve looked out on the floor many times and thanked the basketball Gods for allowing me to coach this group,” he said of the Dubs.
We can also expect NBA 2019 odds to heavily favour the Dubs as DeMarcus Cousins continues to synchronise with his team-mates.
However, it’s not like the Wizards are playing terribly without John Wall. Bradley Beal has been playing brilliant basketball, leading the team to convincing wins against strong Eastern Conference squads like Philadelphia and Milwaukee.
They will try to make life difficult for the Dubs when they visit the Capital One Arena.
Betting Tip: Golden State Warriors Asian Handicap -9.50 @ 1.98
New Orleans Pelicans @ Oklahoma City Thunder (January 25, 08:00 GMT+8)
The Oklahoma City Thunder are also going through a period of growth as the synergy between Paul George and Russell Westbrook grows. The duo is making big NBA 2019 news by carrying the Thunder past some tough opposition, scoring 27.0 and 21.8 PPG respectively.
Moreover, they have a fantastic third option in Steven Adams. The Kiwi big man has grown in leaps and bounds over the years and is balling with his 15.3 PPG and 10.0 RPG averages. He will be a solid presence on the floor as they play the Pelicans that are without a leader down low.
Anthony Davis is still out of the lineup with an injured finger, and many expect him not to return to action until February. With their main man not on the floor, it will be up to Jrue Holiday and Julius Randle to stop OKC from winning.
Betting Tip: Oklahoma City Thunder Asian Handicap -11.50 @ 1.95
Portland Trail Blazers @ Phoenix Suns (January 25, 09:00 GMT+8)
The Trail Blazers aren’t the top-of-the-mind choice for many casual basketball fans when you ask them of an exciting team to watch. However, people recognise that Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum make up one of the most dynamic one-two punches in the association.
The two score at least 46 of the 112.5 points the Blazers make every game. While Lillard is questionable to start due to his hand, there is little to no doubt that the star guard will try to make the game and extend their stay at the top half of the Western Conference.
They can definitely do that against a weak Phoenix Suns team. They continue to lose games and are very likely to end up with another lottery pick. They have superb scoring options in Devin Booker and T.J. Warren but struggle to keep opponents off the ball. Moreover, the off-court drama involving the city and the ownership is surely going to affect the way they play.
I would honestly be surprised if the Blazers slip against a Suns team that seems to be going nowhere.
Betting Tip: Portland Trail Blazers Asian Handicap -7.50 @ 1.95
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Los Angeles Lakers (January 25, 10:30 GMT+8)
LeBron James‘ groin pains continue to worry the Lakers as he is still set to miss the Timberwolves game. They still struggle to close out games without the 34-year-old’s on-court presence. Their defeats against an off-tempo Houston Rockets and a strong Warriors signal a problem that most LeBron teams have.
However, it would be unfair to discount the Purple and Gold just because of LeBron’s absence. Kyle Kuzma is doing a great job of leading the team in scoring and in the locker room; Brandon Ingram is still scoring effectively from the wing; Lonzo Ball is coming into his own as the team’s floor general.
However, things won’t be easy against the Wolves. They have a strong performer in Karl-Anthony Towns, The team is playing some good passing basketball, and Derrick Rose is making a lot of neutral fans cry in his support due to his fantastic plays this season.
The markets at SBOBET chalk this up as a close affair, and I don’t disagree with the odds. I think the lack of an established closer will bite the Lakers in the end as the Timberwolves have a superb clutch man in the form of D. Rose.
Betting Tip: Minnesota Timberwolves Asian Handicap -2.00 @ 2.01
