This is a frustrating time to be a Spurs fan

Golden State Warriors 120-108 San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs were set to shock the whole online betting community in Game 1. We all saw it. Then Kawhi Leonard got injured. It’s all over.

They got blown out in Game 2, and they now trail 3-0 after suffering another defeat at home in the hands of the mighty Warriors.

Leonard did not play again, so the live betting faithful already knew what would happen in Game 3; and although the Spurs didn’t go down without a fight, betting odds on them coming back from this deficit now shrink to zero.

San Antonio led by the end of the first quarter, 33-29. Their biggest advantage in the quarter was six points, but that’s all they can get as the Warriors turned on their engines and jumped into a nine-point lead at the end of the first half.

Gregg Popovich and his boys showed heart and managed to stay close, thanks in large part to the Warriors’ 21 turnovers which came mostly from their unusually sloppy transition offence.

However, no matter how ugly the Warriors were playing, they were still too much for the Spurs that even lost their reserve forward David Lee to a knee injury early in the match.

Manu Ginobili and LaMarcus Aldridge scored 21 and 18 respectively, though that wasn’t enough with the likes of Patty Mills and Danny Green failing to reach the double-digit mark despite playing for 32 minutes.

Golden State, on the other hand, had their ‘death lineup’ doing much of the work. Kevin Durant showed once again why the Warriors signed him as he notched 33 points, 19 in the third quarter, and 10 boards on 57.9 percent shooting.

The Splash Brothers combined for 38 markers, while JaVale McGee—who was inserted into the starting lineup in the absence of Zaza Pachulia—impressed with 16 points in just 12 minutes of action.

Sure enough, it’s not yet over for the Silver and Black. Nonetheless, even if Leonard returns, it’s difficult to see them winning four straight matches to turn this series around – not here or in any other reality.

Game 4 is set on Tuesday at AT&T Center where the Warriors can make history for a full postseason sweep.
