Time to Get Back to the Big German Football Games!

Man oh man, here comes another exciting week of football betting in Germany!

After the reigning World Cup champions blasted Norway with six goals at Stuttgart, online gambling fans now shift their focus to the Bundesliga where some German stars (and other international players who came from international duty) will look to continue their impressive runs.

There are also some new names (that beat deadline day) who will certainly add some intrigue when Matchday 3 starts this weekend.

WEEK 3 SATURDAY:

Hamburger SV vs RB Leipzig

Hamburg can’t wish for a better start this campaign after their 14th-placed finish last year. However, Leipzig will be their biggest test yet, with the Bulls appearing to have finally found their rhythm after their opening day loss to Schalke.

Timo Werner bagged a brace for Germany against Norway and should be able to spark Leipzig once again to beat an Asian Handicap -0.50 @ 1.91.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Eintracht Frankfurt

The last three meetings between these two sides ended in a draw (two of which are scoreless), and the tell-tale signs are there that it won’t change this time. Gladbach have a better chance of getting the victory as they remain unbeaten in two, though they can’t ignore the Eagles who still have new man Kevin-Prince Boateng ready to explode any time now.

Augsburg vs FC Koln

The Billy Goats are now feeling the effects of the absence of 26-goal man Anthony Modeste, and with no significant signings to improve the attack, their losing streak isn’t expected to stop.  Augsburg won their last meeting with Koln in February and should be high on confidence after staging a late comeback to draw with Gladbach the last time out.

VfL Wolfsburg vs Hannover 96

Returning top-flight side Hannover 96 have two wins in two, and they will look to continue their clinical and patient football when they meet the Wolves. Nevertheless, with Wolfsburg getting a new pack leader in Liverpool-loanee Divock Origi and Mario Gomez in excellent form, there’s a good chance that the visitors will get a dent on their unblemished record.

With that in mind, punters should consider Wolfsburg on Asian Handicap -0.75 @ 2.13.

Mainz 05 vs Bayer Leverkusen

There’s renewed optimism at Bayer after the club signed striker Lucas Alario and swooped highly-rated Greek defender Panagiotis Retsos on deadline day. It remains to be seen if the two can make an immediate impact for the team, but Bayer should be able to experiment when they meet the winless and goalless O-Fives.

SC Freiburg vs Borussia Dortmund

Freiburg can give it a try, though they won’t have their hopes up against table-leaders Dortmund. It’s not like that BVB are lacking in talent with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Christian Pulisic and Nuri Sahin in their ranks, but they made it clear that they are here to contend and win the title with the addition of teenage prodigy Jadon Sancho as a replacement for Ousmane Dembele.

WEEK 3 SUNDAY:

Hoffenheim vs Bayern Munich

The Sinsheimers are underdogs in this match, but the Bavarians know better than to underestimate Julian Nagelsmann’s outfit that went undefeated at home in the Bundesliga last season. Hoffenheim won one and drew the other match with Bayern last campaign, and it should be no different this time.

That being said, punting on Double Chance Hoffenheim or Draw @ 2.55 is an enticing move to make.

Hertha BSC vs Werder Bremen

Still winless in two, Werder Bremen will certainly have a difficult time snapping their losing streak against another club that finished in the Top 6 last season. However, they will find some silver lining from the fact that they beat the capital club twice last year and that they still have hero Max Kruse, who scored in both of those games.

WEEK 3 MONDAY:

Schalke 04 vs VfB Stuttgart

Schalke will be determined to get back to winning ways against Stuttgart after failing to build on the momentum they got from their opening day victory. The Swabians don’t have a legitimate offensive threat yet, so the Royal Blues can take the opportunity to beat them at home, especially with attacking duo Breel Embolo and Alessandro Schopf back in action.
