Premier League: Sadio Mane’s Big-Money Bayern Munich Move Set

Sadio Mane’s much-speculated move from Premier League giants Liverpool to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich looks set to push through, with the two clubs reportedly agreeing on a €41m fee for the Senegalese star.

Elsewhere, Arsenal have secured deals to bolster their attack, while a potential Chelsea-Manchester City blockbuster transfer could be brewing.

Read on below as SBOTOP shares some of the biggest Premier League 2022 news making the rounds.

Sadio Mane is Bayern Munich-bound

Bayern Munich have agreed to sign Liverpool star Sadio Mane for a reported fee of €41 million, ESPN reports.

Liverpool will reportedly receive €32m up front for Mane, with a further €6m in add-ons for appearances and €3m based on individual and team achievements.

The Reds had recently bought Benfica striker Darwin Nunez for a club-record deal worth up to €100 million in their as they continued to replenish their squad with younger forwards. They had also bought Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz in the last two years as their vaunted front three of Mohamed Salah, Mane, and Roberto Firmino heads into their 30s.

The 30-year-old Mane had a successful six-year stint with Liverpool after joining from Southampton in 2016. He scored 120 goals in 269 games in all competitions and was a crucial part of the Reds’ Champions League and Premier League-winning sides.

Arsenal add Fabio Vieira, re-sign Eddie Nketiah

Arsenal have made their first big-money signing of the summer transfer window as they landed attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira from FC Porto for a reported fee of €35.00m.

The 22-year-old made 39 appearances in all competitions for Porto last season, scoring seven goals to help the Dragons reclaim their Portuguese league title.

Fabio Vieira can play either centrally or wide on the left and will compete with the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Martinelli, and Martin Odegaard for playing time in Mike Arteta’s side.

Meanwhile, the Gunners also re-signed striker Eddie Nketiah to a new long-term contract, which will keep him at the Emirates until 2027.

The 23-year-old, who will now wear Thierry Henry’s iconic No 14, took over from Alexandre Lacazette as Arsenal regular starting centre-forward toward the end of last season, and he scored five goals in the last seven games.

But despite signing Nketiah to a new deal, the Gunners are still keen on adding another striker this summer, with Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus strongly linked with a move to the Emirates.

Arsenal are also reportedly planning to launch another bid for Ajax centre-back Lisandro Martinez. The Gunners had their €30m opening bid rejected by the Dutch champions.

Chelsea considering shock Raheem Sterling bid

Chelsea are still busy trying to unload Romelu Lukaku, with a potential return to Inter Milan on a loan deal being discussed.

And Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling has emerged as a potential replacement for Lukaku if the latter does leave Stamford Bridge.

Will Raheem Sterling really be joining Chelsea for the next Premier League campaign?

Top insider Fabrizio Romano says the Blues have explored the conditions of a possible deal for Sterling, although there have been no direct talks between Chelsea and City as of yet. Any potential Sterling deal will also depend on whether they can offload Lukaku or acquire another top target like Ousmane Dembele.

Sterling, 27, scored 13 goals in 30 Premier League appearances for City last season, but he faces increased competition for playing time with Erling Haaland coming into the City side this year to strengthen their Premier League 2022 odds of defending their title.

Man City set to launch bid for Marc Cucurella

Speaking of City, their summer transfer business is far from over. After sealing the massive Haaland deal, they appear keen to sign left-back Marc Cucurella from Brighton.

The Spanish international had a strong debut Premier League campaign with the Seagulls as he made 35 appearances.

Cucurella would replace Oleksandr Zinchenko as Joao Cancelo’s primary backup, with City expected to allow the Ukrainian to leave in the summer.

City have also been strongly linked with a move for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

Leeds want €55m from Barcelona for Raphinha

Aside from Phillips, another Leeds United star, Raphinha, could also be on his way out of Elland Road this summer.

The Brazilian star already has a five-year deal sorted out with Barcelona, but Leeds are holding firm on their €55m price tag to sell their star attacker to the Spanish giants.

Other Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, could potentially compete with Barca for Raphinha’s services.

The 25-year-old Raphinha has had two strong Premier League seasons for the Whites, with 17 goals and 12 assists in 65 league appearances.
