Premier League: Manchester United are All About Passion

Manchester United vs Everton

Take a look through the Premier League fixtures this weekend, and there are some big games in store for SBOBET football fans.

Spurs against Manchester City on Monday looks tasty. But before then, Manchester United vs Everton is a real eye-catcher. A couple of weeks ago, some would have you believe the heart of Manchester United had all but gone but then, we’ve seen the sort of Red Devils passion that has been absent since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson in the last two league games.

These are early days, but I bet the faithful Manchester United fans are looking forward to this game more than they have for quite some time. And the fact it’s a Manchester/Mersey derby makes it all the more special.

There have been some great clashes between the Toffees and the Red Devils over the years, and this one promises to be a belter. Jose’s Portuguese compatriot Marco Silva has his team playing the type of football Old Trafford loves, and that might just be enough to fire up the home team in front of over 70,000 fans.

Talking Points

Has Jose Mourinho turned the corner? I honestly don’t know, but there has certainly been a happier mood around Old Trafford since a brilliant second-half comeback snatched three points in a pulsating clash with Newcastle early in October.

And the biggest Premier League 2018 news last week was Mourinho’s angered response to a Chelsea celebration when the Blues scored a late equaliser. The passion Jose showed was only matched by his players in a pulsating second-half comeback. Two goals against Chelsea gave Anthony Martial a strong case for a run in Mourinho’s side as he linked up well with Romelu Lukaku.

Paul Pogba still stands as the biggest threat for Everton as they face Manchester United in the Premier League

The bosses’ public spat with Paul Pogba was a low point in United’s season at a time when it all seemed to be unravelling. But the World Cup winner’s furious response to Chelsea’s opener maybe shows that Pogba isn’t simply biding his time until he gets a move.

The Premier League 2018 betting markets aren’t looking at Manchester United just yet, but Jose hasn’t given up with 29 games to play, and neither has his team.

Despite no injured players, Marco Silva might reshuffle his lineup in their Premier League clash vs Manchester United

Over on Merseyside, Marco Silva looks like he may have found his ideal home. After suffering relegation with Hull City in his first season in the Premier League, he started well with Watford last season. But the Hornets’ form nose-dived and results were catastrophic after Silva’s head had been turned by the Toffees.

So he left Vicarage Road under a bit of a cloud, but it’s beginning to look like it’s all been worth the hassle. His side is starting to play with the attacking verve and swagger he loves. Big-money signing Richarlison and creative master Glyfi Sigurdsson have scored four goals each for the rapidly improving Toffees. And Silva had the Midas touch last week when substitutes Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored late goals to grab a dramatic 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Everton look like a team with real potential; youngsters such as Calvert-Lewin and Ademola Lookman are working with proven international talent in Theo Walcott, who seems to be enjoying his football again. And Seamus Coleman, such a key player since his return from injury, says the competition for places is healthy at Everton: new signing Yerry Mina having to wait for his chance at centre-back while Michael Keane’s return to form continues.

Silva seems to have all the raw material he needs. The question is whether he is good enough to turn them into a top-six side.

History

United have one win in seven games in all competitions, though things are looking up. Meanwhile, Everton won three of four, including three league games: the first time Everton have won three on the bounce since the start of 2017.

Manchester United had the better of last season’s clashes, winning this fixture 4-0 with Lukaku and Martial among the scorers. The Red Devils would love a repeat of that, but they’ll settle for 1-0.

Betting tip

??
Manchester United vs Everton Over 2.5 Goals,Over Under @1.85
October 29, 00:00 (GMT+8)

For all United fans’ agonising over their team’s lack of creativity, they have been hitting the net; maybe not prolifically, but regularly. Both teams have scored 15 goals in nine games, with 13 of the 18 matches involving Everton or Manchester United yielding over 2.5 goals.

Manchester United are favourites to win the game but not at a canter, and a -0.75 handicap evens it up with United at odds of 1.97, while Everton is at 1.96 +0.75.
